Nightglass is built for the Mac first, and its free tier covers everyday work: a fast viewer, the full markup studio, filling and signing forms, merging and splitting, searchable scans with automatic OCR, Find all instances, links and the History tree. No card and no account are needed.
Is Nightglass a Bluebeam alternative for Mac?
Bluebeam Revu's desktop app runs on Windows; on a Mac it offers web and mobile apps. Nightglass is a native Mac app with markup, measurement and takeoff with quantities to Excel, batch sheet linking and drawing compare (Pro). Bluebeam is more established in AEC, and its takeoff toolset is the industry standard.
Can Nightglass handle huge drawing sets?
Yes. In our tests, four real drawing sets (511 sheets) stayed open at once with Nightglass using under 3 GB of memory. On a heavy 165-sheet set, a zoomed view sharpens in about 1 to 2 seconds. Batch sheet linking linked 969 sheet references across four sets, reading the pages in about 14 seconds.
Does Nightglass work offline? Do my documents leave my computer?
Every document is processed on your computer and works offline. There is no account, no tracking and no analytics. Pro checks its license key about once a day; that check never includes your files. Google Drive or Dropbox storage sync is optional and stays off unless you turn it on, and Air-Gap mode blocks every network connection.
